Accused WikiLeaker suffering from inhumane treatment in brig, friend says
Thu Dec 23, 2010
Yes, privates do have access to classified information if they have the right job. As a former USAF enlisted man, I did. And classified means just that.
Nazis were given 'safe haven' in U.S., report says
Sun Nov 14, 2010
Not prosecuting the Nazi's and then allowing them to be free in any country was a disgusting action taken in the name of national security of the participating countries.
China unveils its latest from the moon
Fri Nov 12, 2010
I hope China's Lunar explorations wake this country's leadeship up to return us to space and not simply to orbiting around the earth. We need to be establishing a human presence on the Moon, Mars and beyond, for example.
US nuclear plant shuts down to repair leaky pipe
Sun Nov 7, 2010
Nonsense, Billie, Big Brother and Robtice. Yes, nuclear plants that have been built were expensive. Expensive because of rules and regulations governing the siting, construction and operation of such plants. While making such plants very expensive, the regulations are meant to ensure safety.
Protests erupt in Oakland, Calif., after ex-transit cop sentenced
Fri Nov 5, 2010
This former BART police officer will be in great danger in prison. He will more than likely spend his sentence in solitary confinement necessary for his protection. Compared to end of life, two years is nothing, but being confined 23 out of 24 hours in solitary will make it seem longer.
First Thoughts: McConnell doubles down
Thu Nov 4, 2010
I'm not surprised at the vehement comments towards President Obama by the Republicans. I agree with FWWest fearing for this country now that the Republicans have taken back power thay had during the Bush Administration's eight disasterous years.
U.S. border cops find massive Mexico drug tunnel
Wed Nov 3, 2010
And idiot Californians just voted against a proposition to legalize and tax pot. From the description of this tunnel, it sounds like the authorities need to borrow detection equipment the military uses to detect underground activities.
First Thoughts: Unchanged
Mon Nov 1, 2010
Good Lord, save this country from the disaster about to occur if the Republicans sweep the elections as predicted. How the voters of this nation can forget the financial crisis and our convening in Mideast wars began a nearly eight-years before Obama was elected is beyond me.
Airport pat downs get more personal
Thu Oct 28, 2010
It is hard to believe some of the responses to the airport security patdown story. Apparently 9/11 didn't wake everyone up to the fact that American cities and citizens are now considered targets of opportunity for death and destruction on a massive scale previously only threatened in war time.
Airport pat downs get more personal
Thu Oct 28, 2010
Yes, the pat downs are invasive, but less so than a gun, knife or bomb in the hands or control of someone out to commit mayhem. You don't want to travel by an airline and prefer not to go through the security procedures, take a train, boat or bus.
